The blushing portal leaves its destination unknown with its foggy, unclear view. As humans, we have an inherent desire to push beyond our limits and pursue the unknown, even if the outcome is uncertain.
This arch shape first appeared in Bowling’s paintings years ago as a rainbow, symbolizing desire and the never-ending cycle of wanting and longing. It gradually transformed into a gravestone, then expanded into a portal.
